Indigo Deli - Again

Rest : Indigo Deli
Meal : Dinner
Loc : Behind Regal Cinema, Apollo Bunder.

I have long been a supporter of Indigo Deli but it seems the strain of having a marquee restaurant, two spin offs and a new upcoming Indigo clone is putting the strain on Rahul Akerkar's resources. There can be no other reason to explain the drastic drop in quality at Indigo Deli.

A good glass of some Italian red. Not bad.

Mushrooms on Brie, very nicely done.

The spaghetti that they always do so well was undercooked and sans garlic. The taste was horrid.

Again, their famed pizza fell flat, mushrooms and jalapenos. Terrible.

Indigo Deli seems to be just phoning it in of late, i for one am going to stop going there for a while. ANYONE seems to be showing up there and the pricing too has gone out of hand. i dont mind paying top $ for food but not when its below par served by inattentive wait staff.

Food : 5/10
Service : 5/10
Damage 2000.

Gaurav,

I've been a long time reader of your blog and infact have it bookmarked as a guide to good vegetarian food while I'm visiting Mumbai.

When you say ANYONE seems to be showing up there in relation to the Indigo Deli, it does leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Would you care to elaborate on this seemingly elitist comment?

(Not to say I think you are an elitist, but a part of your latest post certainly smacks of being so)

Tuhin,

thanks for your comment. What i meant was quite the reverse.

One table was full of underage kids drinking and making a nuisance of themselves.

another of a 'phoren' yet Indian lady going on quite loudly about how Bombay was dead post the attacks etc etc....

cheers.

while they are inconsistent and unimaginative of late, i disagree with you on the cafe moshe next door. it was atrocious, check out the following post for my experience there.

@PV

not a hardcore veggie here... but its great to be able to go out and eat vegetarian food...

Get enough of chicken and meat in my diet down under (now this entire country is a vegetarian's nightmare! LOL) so its always good to know a few places to hit up for good veggie food while in town!
