Question:- What is the VAT rate for Restaurant in Mumbai.

Gaurav said...

i reckon its about 12.5% on food, on alcohol its probably 20% there might be an additional tax if you go to a 5 Star...

Are you still in London? Don't forget Paul - best sandwiches in town, and best macarons outside Paris.

Thanks Gaurav et all on the VAT question

was just wondering when I went to Moti Mahal Delux in In orbit Malad Mumbai.

Ok food but bullshit service and over and above they charged 10 % service charge.

Moti.

service charge add on is relatively rare in India, out west when added it is explicitly stated on the menu.

this also means that you dont have to leave an additional tip unless u are very happy with the service.

but then if you arent happy you cant penalise them.

moti mahal at nariman point has always been very positive..
